Chula Vista Hair Salon is one of my design clients, and we discussed a video tutorial project for several months before we finally scheduled a shoot with one of his regular customers. I brought in my lighting and soft boxes, and shot this with my 85mm ƒ/1.2 prime lens. Not only was this my first scripted film sequence, but it was also the first video I shot with my own lighting gear, and the first edit with a titling sequence, where I got to use my favorite medium of all: typography (if only minimally). I even used an AI music generator to create the background track so that it would be 100% royalty free to avoid copyright hassles on my client’s YouTube page.
