This was a quick two bedroom condo shoot in San Diego’s Tierrasanta neighborhood. Real Estate photography is an interesting process; sometimes you have time and budget to shoot large homes with off-camera flashes, a lot of natural lighting, soft boxes, reflectors, and setting up each shot on a tripod to get the angle perfect. Jobs like this are constrained by a faster turnaround and a smaller budget, so a lot of the shooting can be done with mobile phone cameras which make use of the on-board AI processing features which assist with HDR exposures that can compensate considerably for the brightness of outdoor natural light while also exposing for darker interiors that may not have any lighting whatsoever. Nevertheless, there is still a lot of masking and graduated filtering that helps make the lighting conditions appear more consistent and balanced once you get the image into the editing suite. I really enjoy the process; and getting a full collection of images with the same look and feel is always really satisfying to look at in the end.
